2021.07.16 Contest with Gravity on Wapta Mountain
We have done it! That was my thought when I was pulling myself over the edge to a flat and broad south ridge of Wapta Mountain, just 130 meters away from the summit. Now I will belay up my climbing partner Weiwei and we will walk to the top, thus ending in glory our trip to the Canadian Rockies. Alas, in less than two seconds I landed on my back on sharp loose rocks 10m below. I heard from Weiwei - "I am sorry! I made a mistake, I made a mistake! I gave you too much slack!" (no, she didn't). Mount Stephen in Yoho National Park, AB - doesn't make us feel guilty of not trying - we have climbed it!

Mount Temple, Banff National Park, AB is worth climbing anytime when conditions are good. We already have been on top twice and will be there again day after tomorrow.
